Conditions we treat · Medford, WI
Start with what hurts. We'll start with why.
Eighteen of the most common reasons people walk through our door, grouped the way you'd describe them. Each one links to what we look for, how we treat it, and what a first visit looks like.
Call and describe it. The front desk will tell you whether it's something we treat, and if it isn't, who in the area does.
01 · Spine & back
The reason most people come in the first time.
Low back, neck, and the headaches that come from the neck. These are the problems chiropractic was built for, and the ones that usually respond fastest when the mechanics are the cause.
Usually treated with
Back pain
Acute or chronic, one bad lift or twenty years of sitting. We find whether it's joint, disc, muscle or all three, then treat accordingly.
Back pain →Neck pain
Stiffness, limited turning, pain that runs into the shoulder or arm. Common after desk work, driving and poor sleep positions.
Neck pain →Headaches & migraines
Tension headaches and migraines that start in the neck and upper back often respond to adjusting what's driving them.
Headaches →Sciatica
Pain, numbness or tingling down the back of the leg. We work out where the nerve is being irritated before treating it.
Sciatica →Scoliosis
Monitoring and conservative care for spinal curves in kids and adults, focused on function and comfort.
Scoliosis →Disc injury
Bulging and herniated discs. Flexion-distraction and decompression techniques that don't twist or load the injured disc.
Disc injury →02 · Family & pediatric
Gentle enough for a newborn. Both doctors do this every week.
Pregnancy, infants and kids are a large part of this practice. Techniques are adapted for size and age, pressure is light, and nothing happens without a parent in the room. We work alongside your OB or pediatrician, never instead of them.
Usually treated with
Pregnancy
Low back and pelvic pain through pregnancy, and Webster technique for pelvic balance. Many patients come to us when their baby is breech.
Pregnancy care →Chiropractic for kids
Growing bodies, sports, backpacks and screens. Light, age-appropriate adjusting for children and teens.
Kids →Infants & colic
Fussy, uncomfortable babies, feeding-side preference, and head-turning preference. Fingertip-pressure adjusting with a parent holding.
Infant care →Ear infections
Supportive care for kids who get them often, alongside your pediatrician's treatment, with a focus on upper-neck mechanics and drainage.
Ear infections →Focus & attention
Posture, movement, and sleep support for kids who struggle to settle. Not a treatment for ADHD; a piece of a broader plan with your child's doctor.
Attention support →Wellness care
Periodic visits for people who feel good and want to keep it that way. You set the interval; we tell you plainly if it isn't needed.
Wellness care →03 · Injuries
Car, work, sport, or a bad step off a ladder.
Injuries get a careful exam first, X-ray on site when the mechanism warrants it, and a plan that includes rehab so the same thing doesn't happen again. We handle auto and workers' comp claim paperwork with you.
Usually treated with
Whiplash & auto injuries
Neck and upper-back injury after a collision, including the ones that don't hurt until a few days later. Auto claims accepted.
Auto injuries →Work injuries
Lifting, repetitive motion, slips and falls on the job. We document for workers' comp and get you back to work safely.
Work injuries →Sports injuries
Sprains, strains and overuse in athletes of all ages, with return-to-play rehab. Dr. Paul's doctorate carries a sports emphasis.
Sports & rehab →Vertigo & dizziness
Positional vertigo and dizziness tied to the upper neck. We screen carefully and refer when the cause isn't ours to treat.
Vertigo →04 · Arms, legs & joints
Not everything is the spine. Sometimes it's the shoulder, the wrist, or the feet.
Extremity joints get adjusted and rehabbed too. Often the pain in a knee or shoulder traces back to how the hips or neck are moving, so we look at the whole chain, not just where it hurts.
Usually treated with
Shoulder pain
Rotator cuff irritation, frozen shoulder, and shoulders that hurt because the neck and upper back aren't moving.
Shoulder pain →Carpal tunnel
Hand and wrist numbness and tingling. We check the wrist, elbow and neck, since the nerve can be pinched at any of them.
Carpal tunnel →Arm & leg pain
Pain, numbness or weakness in an arm or leg that doesn't have an obvious local cause. Often referred from the spine.
Arm & leg pain →Knee, hip & foot pain
Flat arches and uneven feet change how the knees and hips carry weight. A foot scan tells us whether orthotics belong in the plan.
Foot scan & orthotics →Not sure what you have?
You don't need a diagnosis to book. That's our job.
Most people can't name what's wrong; they can only describe it. That's enough.
Do I need a referral or imaging first?
Can you help if my baby is breech?
How young is too young?
Do you take BadgerCare or Forward Health?
What does a visit cost without insurance?
What if it's something you don't treat?
Describe it. We'll figure out the rest.
