Work injuries. Documented properly, treated specifically, back to work safely.

Most work injuries aren't dramatic. They're a lift that went wrong, a slip on a wet floor, or the same motion ten thousand times until something gives. Under Wisconsin workers' compensation you have the right to choose your treating provider, and chiropractic care is covered. We handle the documentation so you can focus on healing.

Your first visit
  • History and hands-on exam first
  • X-ray on site, only when the exam calls for it
  • A plain-language explanation and a plan, or a referral

What to expect →

Sound familiar?

How work injuries usually show up.

  • Low back strain after lifting, pulling or an awkward reach
  • Neck and shoulder pain from overhead work or repetitive reaching
  • Wrist, elbow or forearm pain from repetitive hand work
  • Pain after a slip, trip or fall on the job
  • Knee or hip pain from prolonged standing on concrete
  • A 'minor' injury that hasn't gone away after a couple of weeks

What's usually going on

The mechanics behind it.

Workplace injuries follow the same mechanics as any other, with one difference: you usually have to go back to the environment that caused it. That makes the rehab and the ergonomics part of the plan as important as the treatment. Fixing the back and sending you back to the same lift technique means we'll see you again in six months.

On the paperwork side: report the injury to your employer promptly, then book. We complete the required provider documentation, communicate with the insurance carrier, and provide work-restriction notes when they're needed. You have the right under Wisconsin law to choose your own provider for a work injury.

How we treat it at Borealis

Find the cause. Treat it. Keep it from coming back.

1

Find the cause

A thorough history of exactly how the injury happened, an orthopedic and neurological exam, and X-rays on site when the mechanism warrants it. We document the baseline carefully.

2

Treat it

Specific adjusting, cold laser for inflammation, soft-tissue work and progressive rehab. Work restrictions when needed, lifted as you recover. Re-evaluation at defined points with the findings documented.

3

Return safely

Lifting mechanics, station setup, and a graded return to full duty. If your job keeps hurting you despite good mechanics, we'll say that too.

Questions

What people ask about work injuries.

Don't see yours? Call and ask. The front desk will get you an answer or put you through to a doctor.

Do I need my employer's approval to see you?
In Wisconsin you may choose your own treating provider for a work injury. Report the injury to your employer, then book. Bring the claim number if you have it; if not, we'll help you get started.
Will this cost me anything?
Covered work injuries are billed to the workers' compensation carrier, not to you. If a claim is disputed, we'll talk through options before any care you'd be responsible for.
Can you write a work restriction note?
Yes, when the exam supports it. We write restrictions that are specific and time-limited and lift them as you recover.
What if my injury is from repetitive strain, not one event?
Repetitive strain injuries are compensable in Wisconsin when work is the cause. Documenting the pattern matters; book as soon as you notice it isn't going away.

Describe it. We'll figure out the rest.

Call and talk to Dawn at the front desk, or walk in Monday through Thursday. You'll leave your first visit knowing what's going on.
