Dr. Jake Rhyner

Dr. Rhyner is a 2002 graduate of Medford Senior High. He completed his undergraduate studies at UW-LaCrosse where he earned a B.S. in Community Health Education. As a collegiate athlete, he was part of an NCAA National Championship Track Team, Runner-up Cross Country Team, and an individual NCAA Qualifier in the steeplechase and 1500m. Jake graduated from UW-LaCrosse in 2007 and joined the US Air Force. He served with US Air Force Special Operations before he was medically retired due to injuries sustained during training.

Dr. Rhyner went on to work in corporate wellness for large companies, including WebMD. After working in corporate wellness for over three years, he was recruited by the USA Triathlon Collegiate program, which allowed him to gain guidance and training experiences at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado. He raced professionally from 2013-2019, claiming multiple victories, including a World Championship title at Toughman 70.3 in New York. Dr. Rhyner currently stays active while raising two children along with his wife Sarah, who teaches 1st grade at MAES.
